2. Using the site means accepting these terms
By using this site you confirm you accept these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use it. We may amend them from time to time; check this page occasionally, as the version here is the one that applies.
3. We may change or withdraw the site
We don’t guarantee the site, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of it for business or operational reasons, and we’ll try to give reasonable notice when we do.

You’re responsible for making sure everyone who accesses the site through your internet connection is aware of these terms.
4. Your account
If you create an account, keep your password confidential and don’t share it. Tell us promptly at technocroft@btinternet.com if you think someone else knows it. We may disable an account at any time if we reasonably believe you’ve failed to comply with these terms.
5. Intellectual property
We own or license all intellectual property rights in this site and in everything published on it – text, product photography, illustrations, designs, and the content of “How to be an Inventor”. These works are protected by copyright and other laws.

You may print or download extracts for your own personal, non-commercial use, and may draw the attention of others to content on the site. You may not:

  • Use any part of it commercially without a licence from us
  • Modify copies you’ve printed or downloaded, or use illustrations or photographs separately from the text they accompany
  • Copy our product designs or reproduce our handmade items for sale
  • Remove any copyright or trade mark notice
  • Use any content on this site, including the text of our books and our product photography, to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop machine learning or artificial intelligence systems, or extract it in bulk by automated means for that purpose

Our status as author must always be acknowledged. If you print, copy or download any part of the site in breach of these terms, your right to use it ends immediately and you must return or destroy the copies.
6. Information on this site isn’t advice
Content on this site, and in our books, is published for general information and interest. It isn’t advice you should rely on for any particular purpose. Although we make reasonable efforts to keep information up to date, we don’t warrant that it’s accurate, complete or current.

Projects and activities. Where we describe how to make or do something, you’re responsible for judging whether it’s safe and suitable for you, for using appropriate tools and protection, and for supervising anyone in your care. Some activities carry real risk of injury. Please use your own judgement, and don’t let children attempt them unsupervised.
7. Reviews and anything else you post
If we invite you to leave a review or otherwise submit content, you must ensure it:

  • Reflects your genuine experience of a product you actually bought or used
Is accurate, honest, and not misleading
  • Doesn’t defame anyone, infringe anyone’s copyright, or breach anyone’s privacy
  • Isn’t offensive, threatening, harassing or unlawful
  • Doesn’t promote another business

We don’t publish fake reviews and we don’t pay for reviews. We don’t offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews. If we ever run a scheme where a reviewer receives anything – a free product, a discount – that will be disclosed clearly on the review itself. We don’t remove or hide reviews because they’re critical, though we will remove ones that break the rules above or that we have reason to believe aren’t genuine.

Any content you post is non-confidential. You keep ownership of it, but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce and display it in connection with our business. You’re solely responsible for what you post, and we may disclose your identity to anyone claiming your content infringes their rights.
8. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the site. In particular, don’t:

  • Attack the site via a denial-of-service attack
Scrape, harvest or systematically extract content by automated means without our written consent
  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to send unsolicited commercial communications

Doing any of these may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We’ll report such breaches to the relevant authorities and co-operate with them, including by disclosing your identity. Your right to use the site will cease immediately.
9. Linking to us
You may link to our home page, provided you do so fairly, legally, and in a way that doesn’t damage our reputation or suggest an association or endorsement that doesn’t exist. Don’t frame our site on another. We may withdraw linking permission at any time.
10. Third-party links
Where the site links to other sites or resources provided by third parties, those links are for information only. We have no control over their contents and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss arising from your use of them.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so – including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

We exclude all implied conditions, warranties and representations relating to the site to the fullest extent permitted by law. We won’t be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, arising from use of, or inability to use, the site, or from reliance on content displayed on it. This doesn’t affect our liability under our Terms of Sale for products you buy.
