What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things – what’s in your basket, whether you’re logged in, which pages you’ve looked at. Some are essential to make a site work. Others are optional and tell us how the site is being used.
We use the word “cookies” here to cover similar technologies too: local storage, pixels, tags and tracking scripts. They all work in comparable ways and the same rules apply.
Your choice
Essential cookies don’t need your permission – the site can’t function without them.
Everything else only runs if you agree. When you first visit we show you a banner. No non-essential cookie is set until you accept, and refusing is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time via by clearing cookies in your browser.
Refusing optional cookies doesn’t restrict what you can buy or do on the site.
Strictly necessary

[[csrf cookie name]] | Security – protects forms against misuse | End of session |
[[consent cookie name]] | Remembers your cookie choices | 6–12 months |
Set by us and by [[PAYMENT PROVIDER]] during checkout. These run whether or not you accept the banner.
Analytics (optional)
Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|

We use this to work out what’s useful on the site and what isn’t. It’s aggregated – we’re looking at patterns, not at you individually.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Look under Settings → Privacy. Be aware that blocking all cookies, including essential ones, will stop the shop working – you won’t be able to keep a basket or check out.
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
Safari: Settings → Privacy
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Guidance for the general public is available at ico.org.uk and allaboutcookies.org.
Do Not Track
Browsers may send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, so we don’t act on it. Use the cookie banner instead – that’s the control that works.
