An entertaining door knocker which is a visual pun which will help your visitors enjoy visiting you, or get their visit off to a good start at least. Press the woodpecker’s tail and release it to make the pecker peck the doorplate.
The door plate needs to be firmly screwed to your wooden door so the panel acts as a sound board.
Last year’s first batch looked like this- I have run out of hollow trees for the time being.
Hand-made from sustainably sourced wood, the woodpeckers are usually made from ash or oak. The doorplate material varies, often larch. The stainless-steel springs are hand wound by me on my lathe.
Dimensions vary- approximately 20cm x 20cm x 20cm.
